Cole Price

Cole Price has sailed for over 28 years and racing for about 16 years. He has crewed on numerous racing boats from 20 and 70 feet, and actively raced his own Santa Cruz 27, then an Olson 30 in Southern California (SoCal)  PHRF and one-design regattas since late 1995. Additionally, he owns a Cal 20 that is used exclusively for onedesign  racing. In 2004 and 2005 he served as Vice President and President, respectively of SoCal PHRF. After serving as President, Cole continued on as Chief Handicapper. Since SoCal handicaps boats between the lengths of 20 to 100 feet, he initiated an advisory council comprised of some of the country’s top yacht designers and sail makers to assist in helping SoCal PHRF to formulate initial rating recommendations for new, innovative designs to the Regional Board. He leads the PHRF SoCal board to ensure that race data is properly evaluated to account for boat prep, crew skill, wind/sea conditions, tactics, etc., so that PHRF handicaps are fair to all participants.
